Software is DUMB (Part 1 of 2)

by Ahmad Jawad, on Mar 14, 2019 9:26:11 AM

Software is lazy; it makes you do all the work.

Intelligence does the work for you.

One way any intelligence (organic or artificial) learns is by a process called the OODA Loop. The OODA Loop consists of four steps: obtain, observe, decision, and act.

In the first part, of our two part series, we will discuss the first two phases of the Loop: OBTAIN and OBSERVE.

OBTAIN: The first phase of this process is all about data acquisition. Intelligence needs to gather as much data about the environment, problem, or question it is focused on solving in order to gain experience.

OBSERVE: The second phase involves observing the data and recognizing what data has been obtained. A good intelligence will recognize what is happening by studying every behavior and every pattern. Even better, is when intelligent systems discover hidden patterns that were previously unseen. Finally, the best of intelligence can ponder and shuffle around its own ideas and thoughts on how to best to solve the problem with the goal of making the best decisions.
